More than 220 million children and their families in Africa are in conditions of water insecurity. The impact is increasing: 58% of children in East and Southern Africa and 31% of children in West and Central Africa live in areas with high, or extremely high, water vulnerability.
These children are more likely not to go to school to collect water, suffer from malnutrition and stunted growth when drought and floods impact agricultural production, and get sick when communicable diseases and infections spread due to a lack of sanitation and contaminated water.
In addition to the impact on the health and well-being of children, water insecurity also limits economic growth and forces people to migrate. As climate change leads to extreme and unpredictable climate patterns and population growth affects water resources due to increased demand and competition for water, the situation will only worsen.
The reality is harsh: investments in climate-resilient water infrastructure in Africa are far below the levels needed to ensure water security for the continent’s population.
We have developed a clean water project that provides clean water for needy people. The clean water program gives clean water to schools, communities, and homes. The program is funded by donations from individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of others. We must keep these projects going because there is still so much more work to be done! We support safe water programs that provide to a child and the community and provide children living in poverty with quality education. We distribute teaching and learning materials to unsponsored children to remain in school. Give hope and offer good opportunities they need to grow and contribute to their communities. We work with two affiliated partners already established in Ghana and Uganda to offer basic needs such as educational materials and community support to children and their families yearly
