What We Do in Ghana

A Safe Home, A Classroom, A Future.

The Ghana Program focuses on children who need care, stability and opportunity. These core programs work together to feed, educate and empower them.

Education
Education & Sponsorship

School fees, uniforms, books and mentoring so children like Bless, Gloria and Silas can stay in class and work toward their dreams.

Nutrition
Daily Feeding Program

Nutritious meals that help children concentrate in school, grow healthy and know that someone cares about them.

Empowerment
Skills & Family Support

Vocational skills for young adults, support for caregivers and outreach for widows—building stronger families and communities.

Education & Sponsorship

From Classroom Seats to Life-Changing Opportunities.

Many children in Kpando and surrounding communities risk dropping out of school because their families cannot afford fees, uniforms, exercise books or exam costs. Ryvanz-Mia Childcare steps in to bridge this gap.

Through the Ghana Program, children receive the materials and support they need to stay in school—from basic education through junior high and, for some, into senior high school. We walk with them, encourage them, and connect them with sponsors who believe in their future.

  • Payment of school fees and exam registration.
  • Provision of uniforms, shoes, bags and exercise books.
  • Follow-up with teachers and caregivers.

Feeding Program

No Child Should Learn on an Empty Stomach.

Hunger makes it difficult for children to focus in class or even attend school. The Ryvanz-Mia Childcare Feeding Program ensures that children under our care—and those we reach in the community—receive at least one nutritious meal each day.

Meals are prepared carefully and served in a safe, welcoming environment where children can relax, laugh and feel seen. Special outreaches, like Christmas Meal Projects, extend this care to even more families.

  • Daily meals for children in our care.
  • Special meal outreaches during holidays and school breaks.
  • Partnership with local markets and farms for fresh food.
Vocational Skills & Youth

Preparing Young Adults for Work and Independence.

As children grow into young adults, they need more than classroom knowledge—they need practical skills. The Ghana Program explores vocational training opportunities, such as tailoring, hairdressing, farming and entrepreneurship, to help young people support themselves and their families.

These programs often run alongside regular schooling or shortly after graduation, giving youth a pathway into dignified work instead of unsafe or unstable options.

  • Hands-on training with local professionals.
  • Coaching in basic financial literacy and savings.
  • Support to start small income-generating activities.

Women & Caregivers · Outreach

Strengthening the Families Behind Every Child.

Ryvanz-Mia Childcare cannot care for children without caring for the women and caregivers who love them. In Ghana, we support widows, single mothers and guardians through encouragement, practical help and opportunities to build resilience.

Community outreach—such as Mother’s Day events, health education and small business support—helps families feel seen, valued and less alone.

  • Group gatherings and encouragement for caregivers.
  • Occasional food packages or emergency assistance.
  • Introductions to skills and income-generating opportunities.
