Our Journey
A few defining moments that shaped the mission—built on compassion, faith, and consistent service.
Love opened the first door
The name Ryvanz-Mia was born out of deep personal loss. After our founder lost beloved family members, including her daughter, she made a heartfelt decision: instead of allowing grief to have the final word, she would turn her pain into purpose by caring for orphans and vulnerable children.
Support expanded beyond one home
What began as a small orphan care initiative in Kpando-Ghana grew into a registered charitable organization. In 2006, Ryvanz-Mia was officially established and recognized in Ghana. As needs increased and more partners joined the journey, the vision expanded—to support not only children in homes, but also widows, caregivers and whole communities.
A cross-border mission of hope
In 2020, Ryvanz-Mia Charity Corp. was registered as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization in the United States, creating a bridge between compassionate friends around the world and the children and families we serve in Africa.
