A difficult path through school
For Helen and Gloria, continuing their education has required perseverance. They are orphans living in poverty, and they were not sure they would be able to complete senior high school after struggling to finish junior high school.
The uncertainty they faced reflects how difficult it can be for children and young people to remain in school when financial hardship affects their education. For Helen and Gloria, the possibility of completing senior high school was not always certain.

They are expected to write their final exams next year, in 2027. Reaching this point represents meaningful progress in their academic journey and gives them the opportunity to work toward completing senior high school.
Continuing the journey together
Helen and Gloria’s story shows the importance of consistent support as students work to stay in school. Tuition assistance and social support are helping them continue their education in Kpando, Ghana, as they approach their final year and prepare for their final exams.
