Sofiat’s Story: A Mother’s Cry for Help
They found a mother of eleven living in extreme poverty in Katwe, Nawaikoke Village. Sofiat has endured heartbreaking loss — she lost two babies to malnutrition and later lost her husband. Today, three of her youngest children are battling malnutrition.
The family shares a single small room. They sleep on the floor without proper bedding. Sofiat survives by begging door to door, earning barely $50 per day.
She cannot afford:

“I don’t have anything to give them, so I have to beg,” Sofiat shared.
